Alan Traditional Residence – Shiraz

Alan Traditional Residence in Shiraz is a cozy, newly renovated lodging in the historic Goud-e-Araban neighborhood, near Lotfali Khan Zand Street and located in the city center. After restoration and refurbishment in 2021, it opened for guests and, despite its traditional atmosphere, offers a tidy, modern space for visitors. The building is single-story and contains 10 units, making it a quiet, low-capacity option for travelers seeking a peaceful stay away from the bustle of large hotels. The courtyard is one of the accommodation’s attractive features: a compact, pleasant space for relaxing, sipping tea, and enjoying the open air in an intimate setting. The traditional design together with the warm, hospitable staff gives guests the feeling of staying in an old, beloved home. Units at Alan can be booked for one to four people, and each room is named with inspiration from Iranian culture, such as Shahdokht, Katayoun, and Mahush. While maintaining a traditional style, the rooms are equipped with heating and cooling, internet, private bathrooms, toiletries, TV, and a refrigerator to ensure a comfortable, worry-free stay. The residence has no elevator and is a good choice for those who enjoy experiencing local, traditional spaces. Its location is one of its main advantages: within a few minutes’ walk are attractions such as Nasir al-Mulk Mosque, Qavam Citrus Garden (Narenjestan-e Ghavam), Zinat-ol-Molk House, and parts of the Zand Complex. Vakil Bazaar and nearby shopping centers are also a short distance away, and access to public transportation like bus and metro stations makes getting to other parts of the city easy. In short, if you’re looking for an economical, newly renovated yet traditional place in the city center and want to stay in an intimate setting with convenient access to historical sites, Alan Traditional Residence in Shiraz can be a suitable and tasteful choice for your trip.

We really enjoyed our stay and didn't want to leave. I highly recommend staying at Alan Traditional Residence.
Upon arrival, we were greeted with orange blossom tea and the room was prepared for us even though we arrived earlier. The breakfast was very rich and varied. It included omelets, halim, stews, and sausage. There were also cream, cheese, cucumber, tomatoes, several jams, simple cream, chocolate cream, and possibly yellow pudding. Overall, we experienced a beautiful, clean, and old-fashioned environment for four nights.
The room was very nice and the staff were really friendly. The hotel's location is also very good.
It is important to have a hotel with oversight on cleanliness and basic standards. I highly recommend visiting and having a drink.
